At five yards, the single round effect of a .45 Winchester Magnum bulleted shotshell is evident from the reverse of the plywood sheet. The approximately 12-inch spread of the damage, inflicted by the "sub caliber swarm" is roughly centered on the damage made by the 69 grain "canister" projectile. The choke effect of the flash suppressor / muzzle break serves to tighten the pattern.  See Below...

A closer view more readily shows the effects of the #6 pellets and the central projectile. The shot pattern, surrounding the center projectile, offers several potential advantages for defeating opponents who may be wearing body armor. Though the 69 grain center projectile may or may not penetrate body armor, the spray of #6 pellets will certainly enhance the potential to injure an adversary by striking unarmored spots. Further, at ranges less than 25 yards, the 69 grain projectile, moving at extreme velocity, hits with kinetic energy equal to or greater than that of a .45 ACP round fired from an M1911 pistol fired point blank.  See Above...
